Bandung — The Mathematics Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), successfully held the International Conference on Functional Analysis, Differential Equations, and Modelling (ICFDEM) 2026 on Thursday, June 25, 2026. The conference was conducted in a hybrid format at the JICA Building Auditorium, UPI, Jalan Dr. Setiabudi No. 229, Bandung, West Java, as well as through the Zoom Meeting platform. Carrying the theme “Integrating Pure and Applied Mathematics toward Sustainability and Digital Innovation,” the conference served as an international academic forum that brought together researchers, academics, students, and practitioners to exchange ideas and present the latest research findings in pure and applied mathematics. ICFDEM 2026 was attended by 98 presenters and 105 non-presenting participants, with a total of 203 participants representing 62 institutions from 3 countries.

The event commenced with opening remarks from the leadership of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia and FPMIPA UPI, followed by a series of scientific sessions featuring distinguished speakers from renowned institutions. Participants gained valuable insights from the keynote speakers: Prof. Aidan Sims (University of New South Wales, Australia), Javid Ali, Ph.D. (Aligarh Muslim University, India), and Prof. Rizky Rosjanuardi (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Indonesia). In addition, several invited speakers shared their research findings and academic experiences in fields closely related to the conference theme. In addition to the keynote sessions, the conference featured invited speakers who shared their research findings and academic experiences in areas closely related to the conference theme, namely Dr. Hemanta Kalita (VIT Bhopal University, India), Denny Ivanal Hakim, Ph.D. (Institut Teknologi Bandung, Indonesia), Dr. Nanang Susyanto (Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia), and Isnie Yusnitha, Ph.D. (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, Indonesia).

Beyond serving as a platform for the dissemination of research, ICFDEM 2026 also provided publication opportunities for participants. Presented papers will be considered for publication in various reputable journals and conference proceedings, including those indexed by Scopus and SINTA, subject to the applicable review and selection processes. This opportunity is expected to enhance the quality of scientific publications and expand academic networks among researchers at both national and international levels.

The conference concluded with discussion sessions, academic networking activities, and a group documentation session. Through the organization of ICFDEM 2026, the Mathematics Study Program of FPMIPA UPI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing mathematical sciences, strengthening global collaboration, and fostering innovations that contribute to sustainability and technological progress in the digital era.
