FPMIPA UPI International Seminar 2026: Strengthening the Discourse on Didactic Theory and Algebraic Structures in Mathematics Education
by Matematika FPMIPA    Feb 18, 2026

The Mathematics Education Study Program and the Mathematics Study Program of FPMIPA, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia, successfully held an International Seminar on February 10–13, 2026, online via Zoom Meeting. This event served as an academic space that brought together thinkers, researchers, lecturers, and students in an in-depth scientific discourse related to the development of didactic theory and contemporary algebra studies.

The first day of the seminar featured Prof. Hamid Chaachoua, Director of The INSPE of the Grenoble Academy, who delivered a presentation titled Anthropological Theory of the Didactic in the Research of Mathematics Education. In his presentation, he explained how the anthropological approach in didactic theory can provide a systematic analytical framework for mathematics teaching practices and knowledge production within them.

On the second day, the discussion on the Anthropological Theory of the Didactic in Mathematics Education Research was continued by Prof. Dr. H. Didi Suryadi, M.Ed., a Mathematics Education lecturer at UPI. He emphasized the relevance of the theory in the context of mathematics education research in Indonesia, as well as the importance of integrating theoretical frameworks with classroom teaching practices.

On the third day, the seminar focused on the realm of pure mathematics through a presentation by Prof. Dr. Rizky Rosjanuardi, M.Si., with the topic Operator Algebras Related to Cyclically Ordered Groups. This session presented an in-depth study of algebraic structures and their relation to cyclically ordered systems, enriching participants’ understanding of the developments in theoretical mathematics research.

The series of activities concluded on the fourth day with the Student Parallel Session, which served as a platform for students to present and discuss their scientific work. This session was not only an opportunity to disseminate research results but also a means of academic learning through constructive feedback from participants and discussants.
