UPI’s Mathematics Education Department Hosts International Seminar Featuring Japanese Experts

BANDUNG – The Mathematics Education Study Programs at FPMIPA Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) successfully hosted an International Seminar on Monday, April 27, 2026. Held at the FPMIPA UPI Auditorium, this scholarly event brought together prominent experts from several Japanese universities to discuss the latest advancements in the field.

The seminar, conducted in a hybrid format, served as a global platform for students and faculty members to engage with world-class researchers. The Plenary Session focused on exploring new perspectives and innovations in both theoretical mathematics and mathematics education within a global context.

The event featured a distinguished lineup of keynote speakers who shared their expertise and latest research findings:

  • Prof. Takuya Baba, Ph.D. (Hiroshima University)
  • Assoc. Prof. Masato Kosaka, Ph.D. (University of Fukui)
  • Prof. Suhendra, M.Ed., Ph.D. (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia)
  • Imam Nugraha Albania, S.Si., M.Pd., Ph.D. (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia)

The academic discussion was further enriched by invited guests Assoc. Prof. Satoshi Kusaka, Ph.D., M.A. (Naruto University of Education) and Assoc. Prof. Hiroto Fukuda, Ph.D. (Okayama University of Science), who participated in the insightful exchange of ideas.

By hosting this international seminar, The Mathematics Education Study Programs at FPMIPA UPI reaffirms its dedication to the “Diktaisintek Berdampak” vision by fostering an inclusive and world-class academic environment. This initiative is expected to pave the way for future collaborations, including joint research and academic exchange programs between UPI and its Japanese partners.
