A lecturer from the Mathematics Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) carried out a Visiting Lecturer program at the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, as part of the 2026 Regular Fundamental Research Program under the BIMA Research Grant. The activity was undertaken as an effort to strengthen international academic networks while advancing research through discussions and the exchange of ideas with academics at UNSW.

The 2026 Regular Fundamental Research Program is led by Isnie Yusnitha, Ph.D., with Prof. Dr. Rizky Rosjanuardi, M.Si., Imam Albania, Ph.D., and Sofihara Al Hazmy, M.Si. serving as members of the research team. The academic visit to UNSW was attended by three members of the team: Prof. Rizky Rosjanuardi, Isnie Yusnitha, and Sofihara Al Hazmy.

One of the main activities during the visit was a research meeting and discussion with Prof. Aidan Sims from the School of Mathematics and Statistics at UNSW. Prof. Aidan Sims was the Ph.D. supervisor of Isnie Yusnitha, Ph.D. during her doctoral studies at the University of Wollongong, Australia. This established academic relationship has served as an important bridge for strengthening communication and research collaboration between academics from UPI and UNSW.

During the meeting, the team presented the progress of their ongoing research and discussed various aspects related to the research findings, future directions, and opportunities for collaboration. The discussion with Prof. Aidan Sims also provided the team with valuable academic feedback and perspectives to support the further development of the research.

The academic activities at UNSW also included a mathematics seminar, where Prof. Rizky Rosjanuardi was invited as a speaker. On this occasion, he presented his research topic to academics and researchers at the University of New South Wales.. The seminar served as a forum for sharing research findings, exchanging ideas, and receiving feedback and insights from the international academic community.

This Visiting Lecturer activity is expected not only to contribute to improving the quality and research outputs of the 2026 Regular Fundamental Research Program under the BIMA Research Grant, but also to strengthen the internationalization of the Mathematics Study Program at UPI. Through academic interactions with researchers at UNSW, the program is expected to open up broader opportunities for future collaboration, including joint research, scientific publications, academic exchanges, and other scholarly activities.
