On Saturday, June 13, 2026, the FPMIPA A Building UPI seemed busier than usual. Hundreds of Chemistry Education alumni returned to campus. It wasn’t for lectures or academic meetings, but rather to reminisce about their time together. This intergenerational reunion brought together graduates from various eras—including those from when UPI was still IKIP Bandung—in a gathering filled with laughter and stories of the past.
This nostalgic moment began in the morning with a friendly luncheon where alumni greeted each other and shared stories of life after college. Entering the main event in Room E-405, the event was opened by committee representatives M. Nurul Hana, M.Pd. (Class of 1990) and Prof. Heli Siti Munawaroh, Ph. D (Class of 1997). Several senior alumni, including Prof. Dr. Liliasari, M. Sc.(Class of 1973), Prof. Asep Kadarohman, M.Sc. (Class of 1982) and Prof. Dr. Agus Setiabudi, M.Sc. (Class of 1987) also provided various inspiring speech. Furthermore, the presence of retired lecturers and staff members added to the emotional and memorable atmosphere.
At this event, there was also a handover of the position of the previous period of the IKA UPI Chemistry Commissariat management to the management for the new period 2026 - 2030. The handover was carried out by Prof. Dr. Bibin Rubini, M. Pd. (Class of 1979), as the previous period chairman to the new chairman of the IKA Chemistry Commissariat, Dr. Heriyanto, M. Si (Class of 1988).
Hosted by the duo of emcees, Adi Kusmiadi (Class of 2014) and Aleandro (Class of 2023), the excitement peaked as the karaoke entertainment session and the distribution of door prizes contributed by chemistry alumnus Dede Supriadi (Class of 1991) began. This reunion proved that the family ties built during college remain strong despite the passage of time. - (amca.)
