Bandung, June 13, 2026 – The Chemistry Education Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA), Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), hosted the National Meeting of the Chemistry Education Division of the Indonesian Chemical Association (HKI), which took place at the JICA Auditorium of FPMIPA A, UPI, on Saturday (June 13). This event brought together representatives of study program managers and HKI administrators from various universities in Indonesia to discuss strengthening the quality of national chemistry education.

The meeting was attended by the General Chair of the HKI Center, Prof. Adi Darmawan, M.Si., Ph.D.; special staff of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Sukro Muhab, M. Si.; the Head of the HKI Chemistry Education Division, Prof. Dr. Suyanta, M.Si.; and the HKI Chemistry Education Division administrators. More than 57 participants representing various Chemistry Education Study Programs in Indonesia participated.
The main focus of the discussion was on Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) and laboratory standards for Chemistry Education Study Programs in Indonesia. This discussion is a strategic step in aligning the quality of national chemistry education with developments in science, technology, and the needs of education and industry.

In addition to the study program coordination forum, this event also featured a special forum bringing together journal managers from various Chemistry and Chemistry Education Study Programs. The forum discussed various strategies to improve the quality of scientific journal governance, strengthen the integrity of academic publications, and encourage collaboration between journals to support the dissemination of research results in chemistry and chemistry education.

Meanwhile, this event also served as a momentum to strengthen academic networks between study programs and strengthen synergies between education managers and scientific publication managers. The various inputs, experiences, and best practices shared during the meeting are expected to serve as references for developing future chemistry learning policies and innovations. Through this event, the UPI Chemistry Education Study Program affirmed its commitment as an educational institution that actively supports the development of science education and strengthens academic collaboration at the national level. The National Meeting of the HKI Chemistry Education Division is expected to be a concrete step in encouraging the improvement of the quality of Indonesian chemistry education to be adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive.
