UPI Strengthens Global Collaboration Through AI Innovation Seminar with NVIDIA and MSI

Bandung – Monday, February 23, 2026 – The Directorate of Information Systems Technology and Data Center (DSTI PD) of Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), in collaboration with global technology companies NVIDIA and MSI, organized a seminar titled “NVIDIA Powers the World’s AI & Yours.” The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector of UPI for Resources and Information Systems, Prof. Dr. Tri Indri Handini, M.Pd., and was held at the JICA Auditorium, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA), UPI Campus, Bandung.

The seminar aimed to build strategic synergy between the global technology industry and academia in fostering a future-oriented learning ecosystem. This collaboration is expected to encourage UPI students and lecturers to develop innovative research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), machine learning, data science, and high-performance computing, in line with the rapid advancement of technology.

The Director of DSTI PD UPI, Dr. Cepi Riyana, M.Pd., explained that NVIDIA and MSI were selected as partners due to their leading position in AI-supporting hardware technology, particularly in Graphics Processing Units (GPU). He emphasized that the seminar was designed to provide students with comprehensive insights into the utilization of AI in both academic and career contexts. With the support of AI, students are expected to enhance learning productivity, improve the quality of their work, and even accelerate their study completion.

Furthermore, Dr. Cepi highlighted the importance of industry practitioners’ perspectives in providing students with real-world insights into AI applications across various professional sectors. Through the experiences shared by industry experts, participants gained a clearer understanding of how artificial intelligence is implemented in practical work environments.

In addition to discussing technical aspects and career opportunities, the seminar also addressed the ethical dimensions of AI usage. UPI is currently preparing a more comprehensive regulation regarding the use of artificial intelligence within the university environment, which is planned to be established at the Rector’s Regulation level. The regulation is expected to cover not only guidelines for academic writing but also aspects of publication, patent management, and AI utilization across diverse disciplines.

Through this initiative, UPI hopes that collaboration with global technology industries will strengthen an adaptive, innovative, and future-oriented academic ecosystem, while preparing graduates who are competent and responsive to the demands of technological advancement.
