The Mathematics Education Study Program at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) has been preparing its students to participate in the Student Creativity Program (PKM) since November 2024. The first step taken was to hold a PKM seminar aimed at providing a deep understanding of the mechanisms and benefits of the program. This seminar was expected to motivate students to develop creative ideas, which would later be realized in the form of PKM proposals.
After the seminar, the study program continued with individual mentoring sessions that lasted until January 2025, right before the proposal submission deadline. During this period, students received direct guidance and supervision from faculty mentors to refine their ideas and proposals. This personalized approach was intended to ensure that each proposal met high-quality standards and adhered to the PKM guidelines.
As a result of these efforts, the Mathematics Education Study Program successfully submitted seven proposals representing seven student groups in this year’s PKM competition. This number reflects the enthusiasm and commitment of students to actively participate and contribute through their innovative works. Currently, the evaluation process for these proposals is still ongoing, and the entire academic community hopes for the best results for the participants.
It is worth noting that in 2023, UPI achieved first place as the university with the highest number of funded proposals and incentives in the PKM Cluster 2 category, with 127 proposals funded and 28 proposals receiving incentives. (dit-mawa.upi.edu) This achievement serves as an additional motivation for Mathematics Education students to continue excelling and bringing pride to the university on a national level.
