FPMIPA is one of the faculties at UPI which is committed to producing MIPA educators and scientists with high competitiveness in the era of globalization and industrial revolution 4.0. Founded as the Department of Exact Natural Sciences in 1954, FPMIPA has gone through a long journey until it officially adopted its current name in 1983, after previously being known as the Exact Sciences Teaching Faculty (FKIE) since 1963.
At its inception, FPMIPA had four educational study programs, namely Mathematics Education, Physics Education, Biology Education and Chemistry Education, with the latest establishment permit through Decree No. 60/DIKTI/KEP/2007. As community needs developed, in the 1998-1999 period, FPMIPA received a recommendation from the Director General of Higher Education to open a non-educational study program based on an evaluation by the MIPA Science Discipline Commission (KDI). This shows the feasibility of FPMIPA in terms of lecturer resources, laboratory facilities and a qualified curriculum.
