On February 8, 2025, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) held the Open Visit event at the UPI Gymnasium. This event provided an opportunity for the public, especially high school students, to learn more about various study programs at UPI, including the Mathematics Education Program and the Mathematics Program.
During the Open Visit, the booth of the Mathematics Education and Mathematics Programs featured various interactive activities that attracted visitors’ attention. Lecturers and students provided insights into student life in both programs, covering topics such as courses, career prospects, and both academic and non-academic experiences that students would gain. Additionally, they showcased various mathematical teaching aids, technology-based project applications, and engaging demonstrations of mathematical concepts.
Adding to the excitement of the event, visitors were challenged with activities such as solving puzzles or demonstrating mathematical teaching aids. As a token of appreciation, those who succeeded received souvenirs in the form of keychains.
The booth of the Mathematics Education and Mathematics Programs was guided by young lecturers from the programs, including Nurmala Setianing Putri, M.Pd., Ulfah Nur Azizah, M.Pd., Sofihara Al Hazmy, M.Si., and Fitri Rahmawati, M.Si. With enthusiasm and passion, they answered visitors’ questions and provided in-depth insights into studying mathematics at UPI.
The Open Visit aimed to introduce various study programs at UPI to the public, especially high school students seeking information about university life and selecting majors that match their interests and talents. Through this event, prospective students were expected to gain a better understanding of academic and career opportunities in the field of mathematics while fostering their interest in mathematics through enjoyable learning experiences.
