National Batik Day on October 1, 2024
The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences Education (FPMIPA) Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) proudly extends its greetings for National Batik Day, celebrated annually on October 1st. Recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, batik has become a symbol of pride and identity for the Indonesian nation.
On this National Batik Day 2024, FPMIPA invites everyone, especially the academic community, to preserve and appreciate the beauty of batik as part of Indonesia’s cultural heritage. Batik is not just beautifully patterned fabric; it is an artistic masterpiece that embodies local wisdom, cultural diversity, and Indonesia’s rich history.
FPMIPA hopes that this celebration serves as a reminder for us all to cherish and wear batik in our daily lives, whether for formal or informal occasions. The preservation of batik aligns with FPMIPA’s values, where young generations are encouraged to honor cultural heritage while fostering innovation across various scientific fields.
Happy National Batik Day 2024! Let’s preserve batik as Indonesia’s pride and pass down this cultural legacy to future generations.
