Three Shizuoka University Professors Extend Cooperation with FPMIPA UPI

Three professors from Shizuoka University, Japan, namely Prof. Norio Matsuda, Prof. Makoto Kusakabe, and Prof. Koichiro Awai, visited Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) on Wednesday (27/3/2024). The visit aimed to extend the cooperation between the two universities and expand opportunities for developing student skills through the Sustainable Collaboration in Research and Education program.

This cooperation is a continuation of the existing cooperation between the two universities. On this occasion, both parties agreed to expand the cooperation program, including scholarships for UPI students, new graduates, and alumni.

One of the programs offered by Shizuoka University is the Creative Science Course, an online program that aims to improve students’ ability to use technology. Meanwhile, UPI offers an Industrial Visit program that allows Shizuoka University students to visit several industrial places in Indonesia together with FPMIPA UPI students.

Head of the Department of Biological Sciences Prof. Koichiro Awai explained that this program is designed with good cooperation and varied activities, so it is expected to improve students’ abilities and knowledge in the fields of science and technology.

This cooperation is expected to provide benefits for both parties and improve the quality of education in Indonesia.
