Bandung, March 8, 2025 — A special atmosphere was created when nine students from Chiba University, Japan, had the opportunity to explore the beauty and cultural richness of Bandung City in a Japan-Indonesia cultural exchange activity in the TWINCLE program. In this activity, they were accompanied by students from the Indonesian Education University (UPI) and the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) who were enthusiastic about introducing the history and culture of Bandung to guests from the Land of the Rising Sun.
The journey began by exploring the legendary area of Jalan Braga, where the Japanese students seemed amazed by the hustle and bustle and classic atmosphere that lingered along the road.
The warmth between participants was increasingly felt when the group continued their adventure using Bandros (Bandung Tour on Bus), passing through several historical points such as Gasibu and Gedung Sate. This activity also became an opportunity to exchange stories and cultures, strengthening interactions between nations.
The series of events continued to the Asian-African Conference (KAA) Museum, which presented a profound historical experience. There, participants listened to the guide’s presentation on the important events of the 1955 Asian-African Conference, and had the rare opportunity to enter the original courtroom where the historic conference took place. This moment gave a deep impression of the importance of international cooperation, which was felt directly by students from the two countries.
The cultural adventure continued at Saung Angklung Udjo, a center for preserving traditional Indonesian music arts. Here, participants were treated to an impressive angklung performance, then actively involved in an interactive session playing the angklung together. With direction from the guide, all participants played the song “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, creating a beautiful harmony that transcended language and cultural boundaries. Happiness was even more complete when they danced and sang with the performers, including children who were full of joy.
The day’s activities were an unforgettable experience—full of laughter, meaning, and cross-country friendship. More than just a tour, this program is a real manifestation of cross-cultural travel that strengthens the spirit of togetherness and the global soul of the young generation. (Amca)
