Three Lecturers of Chemistry and Chemistry Education, FPMIPA UPI Officially Inaugurated as Professors

On Thursday, May 22, 2025, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia held an Open Session for the Inauguration of Professors at the Achmad Sanusi Building (BPU) UPI. In this solemn and meaningful event, three lecturers from the Department of Chemistry Education, FPMIPA UPI were officially inaugurated as Professors in their respective fields of science. The three lecturers were Prof. Dr. Wiji, M.Sc., with an area of ​​expertise in Intertextuality of Chemistry Learning. In his scientific speech, he emphasized the importance of building inter-conceptual connections in chemistry and inter-texts in learning, in order to meaningfully strengthen students’ conceptual understanding. Prof. Dr. Heli Siti Halimatul Munawaroh, M.Sc., Ph.D., who raised the theme of Molecular Biochemistry as his area of ​​expertise. He highlighted the role of molecular biochemistry in understanding biological processes at the most fundamental level and its implications for current teaching and research. Prof. Dr. Hendrawan, M.Sc., who delivered a scientific speech on the theme of Material Chemistry. He highlighted the development of research in the field of functional materials and their applications in various sectors of life, from energy to the environment.

This inauguration is an important momentum not only for the three professors, but also for the entire academic community of the Department of Chemical Education. This achievement is a real form of dedication, consistency, and integrity in carrying out the Tri Dharma of Higher Education.

“This achievement of Professor is not the end, but the beginning of a greater responsibility to continue to develop science and contribute to society and the nation,” said the colleagues and students who were present in an emotional and proud atmosphere.

The entire extended family of the Chemistry Education Study Program FPMIPA UPI conveys their congratulations and highest appreciation for this achievement. Hopefully the inspiring steps of these professors will be a spark of enthusiasm for the next generation of academics, and bring a positive impact on the development of chemistry and education in Indonesia.
